The Energy Affordability Agenda

Pennsylvania has an energy crisis—and Pennsylvania residents are paying the price.

Every month, Pennsylvanians open their utility bills and feel it: electricity costs are rising, household budgets are stretched thin, and relief is nowhere in sight.

We're in this crisis because Pennsylvania has clung to coal, oil, and gas – outdated, fossil fuels that are getting more expensive and less reliable by the day. Data centers now threaten to drive energy costs even higher. Meanwhile, Pennsylvanians are asking why cheap, clean, fast-to-deploy renewables are being left out of the conversation.

PennFuture & Conservation Voters of PA teamed up to put out an Energy Affordability Agenda that directs our state leaders to solutions that will lower our energy bills for Pennsylvanians like you.

Group Testimonials:

"Pennsylvania has always been a leader in energy production. Texas is now the leader in both wind and solar energy production in the U.S., while PA struggles to shed its dependency on fossil fuels.

Now is the time for Pennsylvania to show it can honor our constitutional amendment for clean air and defend its citizens from the harm of fossil fuels.

If Texas can do it, so can Pennsylvania."

— Bethlehem Environmental Advisory Council

"For too long, communities have been left out of decisions that impact their energy affordability and accessibility. The Energy Affordability Agenda is critical to make sure that utilities, large companies, and energy providers are increasing transparency and accountability, keeping our residents healthy and thriving, and ultimately make sure that communities are at the forefront of decisions that keep us all happy, healthy, and thriving."

“Energy affordability is a justice issue. At Hope Station, we work with individuals and families who are directly impacted by rising utility costs and energy insecurity. Pennsylvania’s Energy Affordability Agenda recognizes this reality and offers real solutions that protect vulnerable households while building a more stable, affordable energy system for everyone. We’re proud to stand behind this effort.”
