PennFuture Celebrates New Poconos Location

PennFuture clipped the ribbon of its newly opened office in the Northeast region of Pennsylvania on Sept. 21 with an open house event, inviting neighbors and fellow organizations to meet staff and supporters. Nestled in the heart of the Pocono Mountains, PennFuture is thrilled to have a new location in Mt. Pocono, Pa.

PennFuture holds a seat on the steering committee and also the state lead role for the Coalition for the Delaware River Watershed (CDRW), which makes the new location a perfect home among the high quality and exceptional value headwaters of this mighty river.

PennFuture’s Northeast PA Outreach Coordinator, Emily Rinaldi, and PennFuture’s Staff Attorney, Abby Jones, are the team members working in the new location.
  • Emily focuses on watershed protection and clean energy, serving as the state lead for the Coalition of the Delaware River Watershed. She also focuses on community and coalition outreach on stormwater management, environmental policy revolving around pipelines and natural gas drilling, and ways to reduce water pollution in the region. Emily joined PennFuture in October 2016.
  • Abby’s work focuses on water quality and watershed protection, stormwater management, and public land and open space protection. Abby joined PennFuture in March 2017.
The open house provided a way for local nonprofits, fishing groups, donors, and the general public to have a chance to meet the staff and check out the new office space. It was delightful to see so many diverse groups present with about 30 people attending! These groups included Brodhead Watershed Association (our neighbors on Carlton Road), Trout Unlimited, PennFuture board members, and other local PennFuture supporters.

We ended the night with a few special words and introductions by PennFuture’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Jacqui Bonomo, and PennFuture Board Member, Diana Dakey. The group enjoyed refreshments and lively discussion of environmental issues throughout the night.

If you did not get a chance to make the open house, but would like to become acquainted with the PennFuture staff, please feel free to stop by at 425 Carlton Road, Mt. Pocono, Pa. 18344, Suite 101.

PennFuture would like to thank all who attended the open house!
