Empowering Voices: The Vital Role of Civic Engagement in Protecting Our Environment

Democracy is the cornerstone of our country and the basis of how decisions are made, including those that directly affect our environment. Our own state constitution defines our right to things like clean air, pure water, and preserved natural places.

At PennFuture, our mission is focused on ensuring we have the legislation and regulations in place to protect the place we call home – all through legal advocacy, policy expertise, and civic engagement.

All of what we do functions within our system of democracy which we as voters have a say in! The people we vote for are the people who vow to uphold that constitutional right of ours.

That’s why a civically engaged population is critical to our mission. Our vote is our power, and our Civic Engagement team works every year to ensure that everyone is ready to cast their ballot. A functioning, strong democracy and a representative government will lead to stronger, safer environmental protections for us all. But that starts with all of us voting. After so many fought for our right to vote and make our voices heard – it is important that we exercise and protect that right.

With Election Day coming up on Tuesday, November 5, the importance of engaging with our democracy is top of our minds now more than ever. Our Civic Engagement team is ready to help our advocates, members, and subscribers get prepared for this election – we want to make sure you are all set and ready to vote!

In just a few simple steps, you can make sure you are ready to cast your ballot and make your voice heard:
