Poll Workers Power Our Democracy

Become a poll worker!

In every city and local jurisdiction, election administrators need poll workers to keep polling places open, help their neighbors vote, and ensure every voter has access to the ballot box. Poll workers are critical to help maintain accessible in-person voting for communities without reliable access to mail service, voters with disabilities, voters who need language assistance, or for voters who want to cast their ballot in person. The deadline and requirements to apply to be a poll worker vary by state.

As a poll worker, you help elections in your community run smoothly by helping voters who may need additional support at the polls - that means providing a helping hand to the ballot box, making sure they have support to read the instructions, or being attentive to voters’ needs when they show up.

It’s a great way to give back, support the process of democracy, and get paid!
