
Kate Gibbons is our Northeastern Pennsylvania outreach coordinator. Gibbons joined PennFuture in February 2011 and works in our Wilkes-Barre office. Gibbons does community outreach in a diverse area of Northeast Pennsylvania's cities, towns and rural areas surrounding the Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, Hazleton and Honesdale regions.
Gibbons' outreach activities include producing the PennFuture Climate Digest -- a bi-weekly publication -- and energy and water issues with a focus on Marcellus Shale gas drilling.
Gibbons' background is in writing, community relations and program planning with public interest agencies. Gibbons is a board member and volunteer at an area museum and also dedicates time to interests in animal welfare, outdoor activities and gardening.
Gibbons earned a B.A. in history and communications from King's College, Wilkes-Barre and a M.S. in human resource administration from the University of Scranton.
